YBT advances towards lower emission precast cocnrete deliveries with a new transport equipment investment
YBT has started operating the latest addition to its precast concrete transport fleet. The transport equipment investment enables significant reductions in YBT’s transport emissions.
The new transport equipment allows for the transportation of larger loads, reducing the number of trips and thus project-specific driving distances. The new Scania R 660 combination can now transport loads of over 50 tons, says YBT’s Transport Manager Mika Ylimaunu.
According to YBT’s CEO Juha Alapuranen, the equipment investment is part of the company’s broader commitment to achieving its environmental goals. YBT aims to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions and environmental impacts in all its operations.
The Scania, which belongs to the best Euro 6 emission class, is equipped with modern technology that allows for fuel consumption optimization and driving style monitoring. The efficient and energy-friendly equipment improves our ability to compete and meet customer needs even on longer delivery distances. Currently, elements are being delivered to the Freyr Battery factory project in Mo i Rana, Norway, Ylimaunu says.
